Day 2 of the on-going Annual Central Project Planning and Monitoring Units Forum in Mombasa
The National Council for Population and Development Director General, Dr. Sheikh Mohammed has challenged Economists to adjust the years of development planning from five to fifty years stating that population is expanding drastically. He said “Today if you want to plan for a road, let it be done for the next 50 years and not just 5 years.”
He said that teenage pregnancy should also be considered as a developmental issue. Dr. Mohammed added that since economists want to see value for money, they should plan and get money for Population development.
He said this in Mombasa where this year’s Annual Central Project Planning and monitoring units forum is taking place.
