Official launch of the Fourth Medium Term Plan (2023-2027) Preparatory Process
Guests arriving for the Official Launch of the Fourth Medium Term Plan (2023-2027) Preparatory Process led by the Cabinet Secretary, The National Treasury and Planning, Amb. Ukur Yatani. The National Treasury and Planning through the State Department for Planning has initiated the preparation of the fourth Medium Term Plan of Kenya Vision 2030. The fourth Medium Term Plan a successor of third MTP 2018-2022 will implement the second last phase of Kenya Vision 2030 and will set the momentum for transitioning to the next long-term development blueprint. The plan will outline policies, programmes and projects to be implemented by the government in the period of 2023-2027.
In accordance with the Constitution, preparation of the 4th MTP will involve stakeholders participation at Counties and National levels. Consultations for the preparation of 4th MTP will be conducted through 25 Medium Term Plans Sector Working Groups (MTPSWGs) which have been established to identify/formulate sector policies, programmes, projects and prepare sector plans and draft sections and chapters. The 4th MTP will place particular attention on; achievement sustained economic growth;address income inequality; empower youth, women and person’s with disabilities; and revitalise all sectors of the economy to generate employment opportunities.
