Sierra Leonne Minister Visit to Kenya
The Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury and Economic Planning, Prof. Njuguna Ndung’u held a meeting with the officials of the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) Continental Secretariat who paid him a courtesy call in his Treasury Building office Nairobi on 11/7/2023.
The APRM Delegation was led by the Sierra Leone Minister of Political and Public Affairs, Hon. Mohammed Foday Yumkella. The meeting discussed among other issues; the African Continent development agenda and participation of member states in the implementation of strategic objectives emanating from the African Peer Review Reports and various focal points.
During the visit to the Treasury, APRM Continental Secretariat Chief Executive Officer, Prof. Eddy Maloka reiterated that Kenya’s participation in the implementation of the APRM Programmes was always leading at the Continental level.
Prof. Maloka added that many African Countries consult a lot from the Kenyan style of actioning the APRM Plans. He urged leaders to remain focused to keep the Kenyan candle burning prominently at the continental level with the aim of progressively improving on the African development agenda.
Present during the meeting were; Economic Planning Principal Secretary, James Muhati and the APRM/NEPAD Secretariat Chief Executive Officer, Amb. Dr. Samori Okwiya among others.
