Economic Planning Principal Secretary James Muhati this afternoon met with the Legislative Body of the House of Representatives from the Republic of Indonesia

Economic Planning Principal Secretary James Muhati  this afternoon met with the Legislative Body of the House of Representatives from the Republic of Indonesia led by Mr. Abdul Wachid and Indonesia Ambassador to Kenya Dr. Mohamed Hery Saripudin. The main purpose of the visit was to benchmark with the National Treasury and Economic Planning on how to develop, finance and implement a long term plan.

The meeting was informed that Indonesia has a New Indonesia Long-term Plan 2025-2045. Specifically the team wanted to find out how the long term plan is formulated, the parliamentary process involved and how the plan is implemented among other things. The PS took them through how the Kenya Vision 2030 was developed and how the Medium Term Plans have been implemented since its inception in 2008, the last being the Fourth Medium Term Plan that was launched on 21/3/24. The PS was accompanied by Senior officials from the National Treasury and the State Department for Planning.
