The National Information Platform for Food Security and Nutrition (NIPFN) Research Papers officially launched

Economic Planning Secretary, Timothy Gakuu on behalf of the Economic Planning Principal Secretary, James Muhati officially launched the National Information Platform for Food Security and Nutrition (NIPFN) Research Papers, prepared by the Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis (KIPPRA), in collaboration with the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) on 21/11/24 at a Nairobi Hotel.

 

These Policy Research Papers focus on nutrition and food security; the cost of nutritious school meals, and the relationship between drought early warning systems and food security.

 

NIPFN, supported by the European Commission, United Kingdom Department for International Development and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, plays a vital role in enhancing food security and nutrition in Kenya by providing timely, reliable data to inform policymaking and decision-making processes.

 

Present during the launch were; Board Chair KIPPRA, Prof. Paul Wachana, UNICEF Chief of Nutrition (Kenya), Dr. Ismael Teta, Senior Policy Analyst KIPPRA, Dr. Isabella Kiplagat, NIPFN Project Manager KNBS, Mr James Gatungu, Director Economic Management KIPPRA, Dr Eldah Onsomu among others.
