Economic Planning PS James Muhati familiarization tour at the National Council for Population and Development

Economic Planning Principal Secretary,James Muhati this morning visited the National Council for Population and Development to familiarise himself with it’s operations. He was briefed by the Director General Dr. Mohammed A. Sheikh and other Senior officers.

NCPD was established in 1982 as a Government Department (Ministry of Home Affairs), later Ministry of Planning and Development.

It is a Semi-autonomous Government Agency (SAGA) under the National Treasury and Economic Planning, State Department for Economic Planning.

NCPD contributes to the State Department for Economic Planning core function of Population Policy Management as contained in Executive order No. 1 of 2022.
It derives its mandate from Legal Notice No. 120 contained in the Kenya Gazette supplement No.68 of 29th October, 2004.

During the tour, the Principal Secretary was accompanied by the Economic Planning Secretary Madam Katherine Muoki and the Director Administration Mr Joel Makori.
