Financing For Development Forum 25th to 28th April 2022 New York, USA
Planning PS Saitoti Torome led the Kenyan Delegation to New York, USA for the 2022 United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Financing for Development Forum where he presented the Kenyan position paper on development financing.
While addressing the meeting, PS Torome underscored the need to revamp domestic resource mobilization while still leveraging on the International Finance to achieve sustainable development.
He also emphasized the use of Public Private Partnerships as an alternative source of development finance.
The ECOSOC Forum on Financing for Development follow-up is an intergovernmental process with universal participation mandated to review the Addis Ababa Action Agenda (Addis Agenda) and other financing for development outcomes and the means of implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The Forum brought together Heads of State and Government, Senior Officials of International Organizations, Ministers, government officials, Civil Society Organizations, business sector and local authorities among others.
