Incoming CS Briefed on the Mandate of the National Treasury and Economic Planning

Economic Planning Principal Secretary James Muhati and his National Treasury counterpart Dr. Chris Kiptoo briefed the incoming Cabinet Secretary, CPA John Mbadi on the Mandate and Functions of the National Treasury and Economic Planning.

In his briefing PS Muhati outlined the ongoing and proposed Sector Policy and Legislative initiatives, while noting that the State Department’s roles were clearly spelt out in the Executive Orders No.1 & No. 2 of 2023.

He added that in the past three years, SDEP successfully prepared and launched the Fourth Medium Term Plan (MTP IV) 2023-2027, Economic Surveys, Voluntary National Reviews and upgraded the KIPPRA-Treasury Macro Model among other achievements.
