PS Briefs Council of Economic Advisors
Led by the Economic Planning Principal Secretary, James Muhati 7/6/2023, the Economic Planning Team met with the Presidential Council of Economic Advisors where they recapped the alignment of the Government Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) priorities into the Fourth Medium Term Plan (MTPIV) 2023-2027.
MTPIV is a Five Year Government Development Plan succeeding MTP III which is coming to an end in June 2023.
Preparations for the MTPIV commenced in July 2021 and its implementation will start in July 2023.
During the meeting, the Council of Economic Advisors pointed out where they noticed gaps and recommended on how these gaps should be addressed to improve the MTPIV Plan.
The government’s long term development planning and management of data for proper planning were also discussed.
The meeting was chaired by Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisors Dr. David Ndii.
The Economic Planning Principal Secretary was accompanied by the Economic Planning Secretary (EPS) Katherine Muoki and the Planning Macroeconomic Director, James Maina.
