The DIAR Awards Gala Night
The 7th Edition of the National Diversity and Inclusion Awards and Recognition (DIAR ) Awards Gala Night took place on 7th March, 2025 in Nairobi.
During the event, the State Department for Economic Planning was honored with the DIAR Award for being the best State Department in representing People With Disabilities (PWD’s).
The Ceremony, themed ‘Awarding Investors in People, Planet Guardians and Champions of Prosperity for Posterity’ brought together Stakeholders in the Public and Private Sectors to celebrate and honor remarkable achievements in fostering inclusivity and proactive measures in climate action initiatives.
The Economic Planning Principal Secretary, James Muhati, in a speech read on his behalf by the Director of Planning, Ezekiel Manyara, disclosed that the State Department has capacity built the larger population in diverse programs to ensure that the Country achieves equitable demand-driven development in the present generation.
” The Government is implementing it’s long term blue-print, the Vision 2030. The State Department for Economic Planning remains committed to this goal through Five Year Medium -Term Plans currently in the Fourth Cycle (2023-2027) using value chain approach which is aligned with the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA)”, PS Muhati said.
The DIAR Awards is an initiative that aims at honoring employers, institutions, organizations and individuals who exemplify leadership in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB).
In attendance were: NGO’s, Heads of State Corporations, Chairpersons and Trustees of Foundations, Officers from Government Institutions,University Vice Chancellors among others.
