The Brethren to Brethren Prayer Breakfast Forum at PAC University

The State Department for Economic Planning earlier today Wednesday, 8th July, 2026 convened the 'Brethren to Brethren' Prayer Breakfast themed “Faith that Builds, Measures and Leaves a Legacy” at Pan Africa Christian University (PAC University).

The forum brought together Inter-Denominational Religious Leaders from Kasarani Constituency to advance Grassroots participation, promote Community-driven development and strengthen values-based Leadership for National unity and sustainable socio-economic transformation.

The Economic Planning Principal Secretary, Dr. Bonface Makokha who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to fostering growth by promoting inclusive development, evidence-based public participation and a shared National vision for responsible growth.

“Wisdom is not merely a personal virtue, it is God's chosen catalyst for systemic change,” PS Makokha stated.

Moreover, drawing from Genesis Chapter: 3 verse 15, PS Makokha emphasized that humanity has a God-given responsibility to work diligently and faithfully while stewarding the resources entrusted to them. He called upon the Faith Leaders to uphold responsible stewardship in serving Communities and advancing the Country’s development.

Speaking during the Prayer Breakfast, the PS further urged on the importance of stewardship of families, stewardship of life, stewardship of knowledge and innovation among others as key pillars in nurturing responsible citizens, strengthening Societies and fostering economic advancement.

Notably, a key focus of the forum was reinforcing the role of Religious Leaders in championing the Grassroots Economic Dialogues dubbed 'Gumzo la Uchumi Mashinani’, an ongoing National initiative that promotes citizen engagement in assessing the implementation and progress of the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) Pillars.

On his end, the State Department for Devolution Principal Secretary, Michael Lenasalon noted that Faith Leaders remain indispensable partners in advancing Kenya's development due to their strong reach and public trust. He also urged them to continue praying for the Nation to foster unity, peace and transformative progress.

Significantly, through their extensive Community networks, Religious Leaders are expected to facilitate informed public engagement and encourage the ‘Common Mwananchi’ to actively participate advancing the Country's development agenda.

As part of this effort, the Government continues to engage Citizens through the ‘Gumzo la Uchumi Mashinani’ Initiative hence providing a platform for the public to share their views as well as assess progress priorities.

“Let us change Society; Let us support the Government’s projects.”

In attendance were: The Roysambu Constituency Member of Parliament, Hon. Kamande Mwafrika; Roysambu Sub-County, Nairobi North, Sub-Region County Commissioner Simon Odhiambo and Roysambu Constituency Religious Leaders among other Senior Officials.
