Conversation on Kenya's Future Beyond Vision 2030

Young minds took the spotlight today, 12th August, 2026 during the #Beyond2030 National Conversation at Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC).

The aim and message of the event was simple: The future of Kenya must include every Kenyan citizen’s voice.

While contributing to the forum, H.E. Hon. Dr. William Ruto, CGH said that nobody has the monopoly of good ideas and we should all step up to implement the Constitution. He noted that this can be achieved by figuring out how we avail all rights available in the Constitution to everybody in Kenya.

The President added, it is a collective responsibility for all and the government will not lead the conversation but will only provide the platform. He asked Kenyans not to abdicate from the responsibility of shaping the future of our Nation.

On his part, H.E. Hon. Prof. Kithure Kindiki EGH, emphasised the need for policy continuity, institutional stability and innovative financing to sustain Kenya’s development beyond 2030. He called for long-term development plans that transcend political cycles and urged Kenyans across all 47 counties to play an active role in shaping the roadmap towards Kenya @100.

The conversation brought together leaders from the political, governance, private, faith and youth sectors. Siaya Senator Dr. Oburu Oginga backed Vision 2060, while Wajir Governor and CoG Chair FCPA Ahmed Abdullahi called for stronger devolution, equity for marginalized and ASAL counties, and meaningful public participation across all 47 counties.

National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah reaffirmed Parliament’s commitment to providing legislative support for the long-term framework, emphasizing bipartisan support, fiscal discipline and continuity.

Among the young speakers was 7-year-old Adrian Gweth, reminding the nation that it is never too early to shape tomorrow.

The National conversation also featured interactive panel sessions and public participation segments, where citizens and experts exchanged key perspectives crucial for driving the country forward.

By uniting the passion of the youth and Kenyans at large with a shared commitment to National responsibility, the #Beyond2030 conversation sets a promising foundation for a collaborative, inclusive, and prosperous future for all Kenyans.
